Erivan Haub died at the age of 85 in USA

Mülheim an der Ruhr / Pinedale, March 12, 2018 - On behalf of the entrepreneurial family Haub, we announce that Erivan Karl Matthias Haub died unexpectedly on March 6, 2018 in Pinedale, WY, USA.

The patriarch and many years chief of the family business Tengelmann based in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany, was at the time of his death together with his wife Helga at his ranch in Wyoming. There, a few days before, the couple celebrated their Diamond Wedding together.

From 1969 to 2000 Erivan Haub was the sole managing partner of the Tengelmann Group. During this time, he expanded in the fourth generation of entrepreneurs, the at this time medium-sized family business to a retailer of international rank. In 2000 he transferred operational responsibility to his sons and became chairman of the corporate advisory board. With the completion of his 80th birthday, he finally retired to private life and dedicated himself to his many hobbies. Unforgettable remains his early commitment to the environment through sustainable entrepreneurship - already since 1985. In addition to countless honors Erivan Haub was awarded in 2004 with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
