Tengelmann donates revenues from the Open Day to Friedensdorf InternationalPrint

Mülheim an der Ruhr, 17 July 2017 – On July 14, 2017, Sieglinde Schuchardt, press officer of the Tengelmann Group, handed over a check for 3,368.50 euros to Claudia Peppmüller, representative of Friedensdorf International in Oberhausen. The donation came as part of the Open Day at the Tengelmann company headquarters in Mülheim an der Ruhr. "It was clear from the outset that the entire proceeds of the event, which has always been a tradition at our company, should go to a good cause. The decision was that they should go to Friedensdorf as they did previously in the Open Day of 2013," says Sieglinde Schuchardt. The aid facility in Oberhausen and Dinslaken brings sick and injured children from war and disaster zones to Germany for medical care. After completion of the treatment, the children return to their families in their home countries. "With this donation, we would like to support the valuable work that Friedensdorf is doing on a daily basis. Every child deserves to grow up in a peaceful environment. Unfortunately, this is not possible everywhere in the world. It is therefore all the more important that facilities such as Friedensdorf provide the children with a safe temporary home, where they can recover without being scared, " explains Sieglinde Schuchardt.

There has been a close relationship with Friedensdorf for a number of years. Since 2007, every employee at the company's premises in Mülheim an der Ruhr has been given the opportunity to take a day off work one day a year as part of the "Volunteer Day" project in order to help in an organization on an honorary basis.

Many of the placements take place in Friedensdorf in Oberhausen. "The commitment of our employees is so deep that we have also set up a Friedensdorf donation box for children's clothing and toys in the company," says Sieglinde Schuchardt.
